Driving over 4000 miles from Chicago to Lake Havasu City and back proves one important thing. It restores one's belief in god. The reason is that the only thing you can get on the radio is religious broadcasts. From howling, pounding hell fire screamers to "Christian Rock"--now that's an oxymoron if there ever was one.
Moreover, one is convinced that god is Hispanic--especially if travel is to the Southwest and West. Or maybe god is Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck or Medved. Other than Jesus talk, that's all there is. Hey, maybe god is a hillbilly or Western singer. Great stuff; here's a lyric from last night:
"You are my bread when I am hungry, you are my shelter when the wind is strong, you are my lifeboat in the ocean of life, but most of all you are my friend."
From now on I shall carry a barf bag in the car. Now should there has to be a law against this. Obama, where are you when I need you to ban drivel??
But one thing is for sure: the anti christ is definitely Barrack Hussein Obama. Yes, from condemnation of Obamacare (the new Hilary Care) to charges of Communism, Socialism, Hitlerism, dictatorship and malfeasance in office.
It is Obama who was responsible for the murder of three Mexican Consulate workers by the drug cartel; because he is soft and incompetent. Not once did I hear an explanation of what Bush, Clinton and Bush did over the past decades. An unprecedented murder of Consulate workers was the result of Obama's incompetence in office. This just as the rest of the world was hearing about the predator strikes in Pakistan and Afghanistan that killed (yes, the same number two who has been dying since 2001).
There was also an hour long (or longer) repetition of a Reagan speech (can you believe it??) that sounded like a State of the Nation. Funny, none of the stuff he claimed he would do materialized. Especially the then record setting deficits as he promised to shrink the government ("govmint" in Reagan speak). Not once did I hear a progressive broadcast. Even NPR was a rarity and only in the big towns with universities.
But most disturbing was the fact that these Jesus-freak preachers were making political statements. Will the IRS ever pull the tax exempt plug on these rabble-rousers?? But wait, more disturbing is the insipid hillbilly/country/christian crap that passes as music. Next time I need to bring much more of my own programming.
A detailed report follows, but surely it will be of little interest to the masses. Remember that this blog is for my own amusement.
